The Directorate of Social Welfare deals with the implementation of Schemes for the welfare of scheduled Castes, Other Backward classes, the Differently abled persons (Disabled), Senior Citizens, Destitutes, Safai Karmacharis and Beggars.

The Directorate of Social Welfare is headed by the Director, three Deputy Director, four Assistant Directors, two District Welfare Officers, Statistical Officers, Assistant Accounts Officer heading the Accounts section, Office Superintendent for administration and establishment section along with the subordinate staff under each section.
